Hi I'm Erin

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently in graduate school studying Higher Education. I love reading, cooking, playing games with my family and friends, and learning about new things and places to explore.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 18, my younger sister met and began to date a Mormon. I had a few misconceptions about the church, but I was always very impressed with his family and the way they loved each other and our family. Eventually, my sister joined the church. I still knew very little about the LDS church, but the positive changes I saw in my sister's life were more than enough to spark my interest. Within 6 months of my sister's baptism, I had set a date for my own baptism. The more I read from the Book of Mormon, prayed, and talked with the missionaries, the more peace I felt in my life. I have always considered myself a loving, Christian person, but joining the LDS Church has truly changed me for the better. I love the Book of Mormon and the peace that it brings me in the midst of life's difficulties. Most of all, I love being part of a church where members truly seek and encourage each other to follow the example of Christ.

How I live my faith

I help to plan community service projects and activities like movie nights, weekly prayer meetings, game nights, dinners, pumpkin carving, bowling, zoo trips, and other fun things for members of my ward to do together. It's very rewarding to see members of my ward enoying my activities and bringing their friends to church events.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes! Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the Book of Mormon itself is subtitled "Another Testament of Jesus Christ." We believe many of the same things that other Christians believe, namely that Jesus Christ is the son of God the Father and that he came to earth, was crucified, and was resurrected for the sins of mankind so that we could return to live with our Father in Heaven. Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes! God has called prophets throughout time to warn, guide, and prepare His people. I believe that God loves us today just as much as He loved people thousands of years ago when Moses was alive. If God loves us as much as he loved people throughout history, and if we still need guidance just as people have throughout history, it only makes sense that God would continue to call prophets for our benefit. I believe that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet that God has prepared to lead and guide his people through the difficulties of this life so that we can return to live with God in the life to come. President Monson and the prophets before him have given us guidance on so many topics that didn't exist thousands of years ago. Show more Show less
