Hi I'm Kylie

I'm an Air Force Brat. I love my family and I loved moving around the world with them. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up all over the world because my Dad is in the Air Force. I never stayed in one place for more than two years but I've always had my family to support me. I am currently attending university to become a Drama teacher, though I am considering graduate school for Drama Therapy. We'll see when I finish. I love theatre but I also love science. I love figuring out how things work and how to make them do what I want them to do. I also love psychology and enjoy learning about the human mind. I sometimes focus a little bit too much on my mind and that is where theatre comes in. It helps remind me to have heart too. It allows me to stretch my creative side.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense. I've looked at other religions and there is always some question that they can't answer or they tell you that it isn't important. I love that this Church encourages you to ask questions, to find out what God wants for you! It encourages you to pray for answers and to read the scriptures daily. It is a church that helps you to actively come to Christ and follow His example. More importantly I am a member of this Church because I know that it is the Church of Jesus Christ. I know that it has His authority just as His church did when he was on the earth. I know this because I have prayed about it and Heavenly Father has answered my prayer. He let me know through my feelings that this is His church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my hardest to serve and love those around me. It can be really hard to serve random people in today's society because of suspicion and people not wanting to be helped. This makes it a challenge and I like challenges. I also just try to live what the gospel teaches. I don't want to be a hypocrite. I think it is very important to live what we preach, even in the little things, because the little things are what make your character.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

We believe that Christ is the only Begotten Son of our Heavenly Father. We are all children of God in the Spirit but Christ was also a child of God in the flesh, that is what we mean when we say begotten. We also believe that Christ is our Savior, Lord and Redeemer. He is our older brother and because He loves us He came to this earth to bleed and die for us. We all have a need for His sacrifice because we are all imperfect but He lived a perfect life so that we could go back to our Heavenly Father. He loves us and He wants what is best for our eternal progression. He knows all of our pains, sorrows, trials, afflictions and temptations because he has felt them all. He is the ultimate comforter because He knows exactly how we feel. We love, praise and adore Him. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I think that that is probably one of the hardest and yet most important questions. I know that I struggle all the time to remember that He is there and that I am not alone. I think the thing that has helped me most is reading the scriptures, the Bible and the Book of Mormon. This helps me because when I pray it is me talking to Him and sometimes I can feel Him and hear His promptings all on my own but most of the time it helps to read the scriptures after I pray. This is because they are His words. When I read after I pray I almost always find the answer that I'm looking for. Because He answers I know that He is there. Show more Show less

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormons most definitely believe in the equality of women and men. We believe that men and women have separate roles but they are equally important. Women bring spirits children into the world and help them to grow and progress. Men help those spirits to make promises with their Heavenly Father through the priesthood that will help them to return to God. Both roles are vital and help women and men to work in equal partnership for the salvation of souls. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

We proselyte because we know that there are people out there lost and searching for the truth. We desire to find those people and share the truth that we know. We want to help them find the joy that comes from following the Savior Jesus Christ. I personally proselyte because I don't know where I would be without the Church. Knowing about the sacrifice that my Savior made for me and how to use that sacrifice in my life for not only the relief of my sins but for the relief of my pains and my sorrows has helped me in ways that I couldn't describe. I can't imagine going through some of the trials in my life without that knowledge and I don't want anyone to have to go through trials without that knowledge. This is why I proselyte. To help others. To help them to come closer to Christ. Show more Show less
