Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mormon! I married my high school sweetheart more than 30 years ago. We have 4 children (3 girls and 1 boy). I enjoy being outdoors, horse back riding or backpacking. I also love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was just 16 years old when I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was through the righteous example and love of a beautiful young woman. We started dating when we were in High School. We had dated for some time. I had been going to Church with her for about six months. While walking together through a park, she looked at me and spoke of her goals in life. One of them was to be married in a Temple. So we continued to date through High School. I continued to go to Church with her. She (my wife now!) never pushed, or suggest that I take the missionary lessons. Just that I share and live her values. The year after we graduated I began taking the missionary lessons on my own. I never told her that I was taking them, or that I was interested in joining the Church. I went through six different pairs of Missionaries. I would have so many questions for them about the different things they taught. They often did not know the answer right there, but would always come back with the answer. I remember reading the Book of Mormon and feeling so touched. I was at work, at a lumber yard, one night and sitting on a stack of lumber in the back of the yard taking my break, reading the Book of Mormon. I knelt down on the dirty asphalt, covered with sawdust, dirt and sweat, and simply and humbly asked God if it was true. I had the overwhelming truth revealed to me right then, right there. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints soon after! I remember what an incredible feeling it was coming up out of the water. I remember wanting to share what I had so much. My wife and I were married in the Los Angeles temple a little over a year later. I know that God lives and that his Son, Jesus Christ, atoned for our sins. That through Him, we can return to our Heavenly Father again. I know that families can be together forever!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the examples of Christ. I am honest in all of my dealings, not just with Church members, but with everyone. I live my values and am not afraid to stand up for what I believe is right. I love my fellow brothers and sisters (that is all of you, by the way!).
