Hi I'm Eric

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I served 16 years in the military with one combat tour in 2005. I have been married to my sweetheart for 15 years and we have one wonderful daughter. I love old cars, with my favorite being classic mustangs.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church and so I was raised a Mormon. When I graduating from High School I did not know what to do with my life. I went to stay in Virgina with my brother and there were some missionaries that lived in the apartment above their garage. It was the conversations that I had with them that gave me a desire to serve a mission. I began reading the Book of Mormon and it changed the way I felt. It gave me a peaceful feeling that I had not felt before. I moved back to Louisiana and I met with my Bishop who helped me prepare to serve a mission. When I got to the end of the Book of Mormon and read Moroni's promise I felt I should get on my knees and ask if it was true. The Holy Ghost testified to my heart that it was true. I knew then that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that this was truly God's restored church on the earth. I am so grateful I was able to serve a mission and for the many blessings that service has brought into my life. Just like everyone in this life we are all faced with difficulties and challenges. My testimony and faith have helped me make it through those difficult times because I know I am a Child of God and that Jesus Christ is my Savior and he made the great and eternal sacrafice that I may live with my Father again.

How I live my faith

Since our church does not have a paid minister we are asked to serve others in our congregation. I am assigned several families that I visit each month to share a spiritual lesson, have prayer with, and check on any needs they may have. I may be asked to give a talk in our worship service or teach a lesson in the class I attend. This service brings me great joy as I perform it.

What is faith?

Faith is a hope for things which are not seen. "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" Hebrews 11:1 Show more Show less
