Hi I'm Michelle

I am a single mother, owner of a wellness center, Native American/Latino mix, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single mom, that is completing her higher education late in life. I am an avid movie goer, reader, and humanitarian volunteer. I am a Massage Therapist and Energy Practitioner. I love to camp, fish, watch sports, and play at the arcade. I believe laughter is medicine that should be taken each day.

Why I am a Mormon

When my son was born 16 years ago I promised to change my life. I searched different religions, went to many different churches, and studied multiple philosophies. Many came close but nothing resonated with my spirit. One day I was in the car praying for direction in my life. I was asking God to show me where to go. I knew there was a church or place for me on this earth and I was searching. I received a powerful message the next person I was going to come accross would ask me or I would ask them, that is where He wants me to be. That same night I was at my babysitter's house Karen and a conversation pursued. I felt to ask her and I did. I said, "Karen do you still go to church." she said, "yes." Then I asked her if I could go with her on Sunday. Two weeks later I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. A week after I was baptized my son was taught and chose to be baptized too. We were both confirmed on the same day. Karen passed away of cancer June of 2010, her life was a testimony and a witness of true Christianity. It is because of her life and others I am still a Mormon and will stand and declare my love for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My favorite calling has been a Nursery Leader. I served in this calling for two years. The children taught me about patience, love, honor, and friendship. I learned what unconditional love feels like and how to give it back. I am fond of our activities that we do as a ward family and as sisters in the Gospel. I especially get satisfaction out of helping others in need. The fundraisers that are held are done with love and respect for others. To serve one another without expectation is devine. Our Savior served others without expecation of receiving something back and I am grateful for His example.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

I am a Mormon and I live in an aparment with my son and two cats. We are mindful of watching, listening, participating in, and talking about things that will bring down the spirit. Our home is filled with peace. When my friends and family come to visit they always talk about how our home feels light and comfortable. As a Mormon I live just like anyone else, I still go to school, dances, dates, parties, concerts, and others. I use the Spirit to guide me on where to be and what to do. If I get a bad feeling or hair standing up on my head then that is the Spirit telling me to rethink my position and what I am doing or about to do. We are not super-heros or super-humans, Mormons are just people who are striving to become like the Savior. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No. We don't worship Joseph Smith, we only worship Heavenly Father through Jesus Christ. However, we do honor and respect Joseph Smith a latter day profet of God. Show more Show less
