Hi I'm Spencer

I grew up in in Florida. I run marathons and Ironman triathlons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Husband to a wonderful wife, father of four beautiful children, and Executive Team Leader at Target. I am a 2009 Bill Phillips Transformation Fitness Champion.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because back in 1986 at the age of 20, I was searching for the meaning to my life. Even though I was living in the beautiful state of Florida with lots of friends and working my dream job at the time as a lifeguard, I felt empty and confused. Something was missing and I was not living the life I was created to live. One day, two Mormon Missionaries came into my life and I took the time to stop and listen to their message. That day as I sat there and listen to them teach me about Christ, the Restored Gospel, the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I felt the impressions of the Holy Ghost testify to my heart the truthfulness of their message. I continue to take the missionary discussions and within a short time, I knew that I needed to change my life and come unto the fold of Christ. On March 8th 1986, I entered the waters of baptism and was confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is why I am a Mormon, I know that it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. Believe me, by no means am I perfect and each day I find myself down on my knees asking for guidance and forgiveness of my mistakes. I guess I can say this is how I live my faith. I exercise faith in Christ by praying in His name for guidance and applying the power of His Atonement to my daily life.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Spencer
Yes.This is what drew me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as I was taking the missionary discussions. The missionaries taught me the truthfulness of the gospel from the Bible and as members we regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God. Mormons around the world like myself study the Bible on a daily basis to know His will and apply the teachings of Christ to our lives. I know that the the Bible is the word of God because He speaks to me through its pages. Show more Show less
