Hi I'm Heather

I love to create art, nurture my family, find beauty in the people and world around me, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My life revolves around my family. I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother of 5, and grandmother of 15. My most recent accomplishment is the completion of my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Brigham Young University-Hawaii. Striving to create art that influences people to love and appreciate the beauty of people and nature is gratifying and challenging. I appreciate the opportunity to expand my talents at this point in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to live my life in accordance to the gospel of Jesus Christ as taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after living a life contrary to the teachings of the Savior. I hoped that I would find love and peace by changing my life, learning more about the atonement of my Savior, and seeking to know my Heavenly Father in a very personal way. I have found those things in my life. I have found incredible personal growth and joy. I know that the gospel of the Savior is taught in its fullness by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I asked Heavenly Father if this is true and the He answered my prayers through the Holy Ghost. I know I made the correct decision for myself and my family because peace came into my life. Peace is a gift that comes from my Father in Heaven. My mortal journey is not without trial, challenge, and discomfort; however, I would relive every moment of the refiner's fire to know what I know today. I know the Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that His atonement has allowed me to change my life. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith was and is a prophet of the Lord. I know that he was an instrument in the hand of the Lord to restore the fulness of the gospel to the earth today. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on the earth today and that he will lead and direct me in the ways of the Lord. I absolutely know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's church here on the earth. I know that if I diligently strive to keep my covenants and be obedient to the commandments of the Lord I will be blessed now, in the future, and into eternity.

How I live my faith

My faith requires my energy 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I start every day with personal prayer and scripture study in order to petition the Lord for the companionship of HIs spirit throughout my day. I seek to serve and love the people I meet throughout my day. I strive to be honest, compassionate, and self-less. I strive to help the people around me by helping to ease their burdens in small and large ways. I show my love for my family by sharing life with my grandchildren, enjoying my children, and supporting my husband. In very small ways I hope to help others feel their worth by remembering to be polite, helpful, and pleasant. I want to live a life that will bring people to Christ. I end everyday with a prayer of gratitude and love for my Father in Heaven.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Family is the basic unit of all civilizations. When families fall apart so does society. Father in Heaven intends for all of His children to have the opportunity to live in healthy, loving, strong family units so that they can be happy. Every family can be happy by living the gospel of Jesus Christ each day. My family are the people in my life that know the best and the worst about me and love me in spite of myself. My family brings me joy and growth. My family are my best friends on this earth. My family is important because of the deep personal relationships we have forged over the years and generations. I know that we can continue those relationships throughout eternity if we do all that the Lord requires of us. My family is everything to me. Show more Show less
