Hi I'm Josh

I'm a birdwatcher. I love my wife and three kids. I'm getting a PhD in ecological sciences. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family, and I'm grateful to be a Mormon. The PhD education I'm working on was inspired by my membership in a church that places a high value on education. I enjoy birdwatching, which combines my love of family and my love of nature.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught by Mormon parents and teachers prior to my 8th birthday about Jesus Christ and the importance of being baptized to be clean from sin. I was excited to be baptized, but soon realized I would need to repent throughout my life because of the mistakes I made. I've learned of the great joy that comes from choosing to do the right and repenting when a mistake is made. The Gospel of Jesus Christ has truly refreshed my soul and comforted my mind and heart.

How I live my faith

I serve as Ward Mission Leader, coordinating the efforts of the full-time Elders and Sisters you see around town wearing name tags with the efforts of members of the church who live and work in our area. It's a great opportunity to serve the community by sharing the peaceful message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

The Church responds early and materially to the needs of people across the earth. They helped people affected by the Hurricane Katrina disaster in 2005, the Haiti Earthquake this year, and they have and will continue to serve the needy around the world. Show more Show less
