Hi I'm Kelsey

I'm from Canada. I'm a stay at home mom with a 4 yr old & 1 yr old. I love quading, icecream, bonfires & old movies. I'm a Mormon

About Me

My name is Kelsey. I have one older brother. I have been married 7 years and I am a mom of 2 boys ages 4 and 1. I live on a small agreage in Southern Alberta Canada. I am a country girl. I am all about seizing the day and having fun. I grew up in the sunny Okanagan (Vernon B.C. Canada). There are many lakes and mountains and tree's. So my hobbies were anything to do with water, quading, dirtbiking, hiking, camping, snowmobiling, etc. Or you would find me reading in a tree, walking down the dirt roads or laying in a field of wildflowers. I love nature. Maybe that is why i am so spiritual. I have always loved laying on the ground and looking at the clouds or the stars and have had a strong sense that there is more than this life. I always knew there was a God and he loved me. I love taking pictures and hope to become a better photographer. I like watching old movies and T.V. shows. I like jumping on the trampoline in the rain, singing really loud when I drive, riding in the back of trucks, shooting my 22, dancing, writing, and laughing around a bonfire. I wasn't always a mormon but I sure am glad I am now.

Why I am a Mormon

Someone told me once that when I was a little girl I saw a picture of Jesus and with tears rolling down my little cheeks, I asked them if I would get to live with Him again someday. This is still the desire of my heart. This is truly my main purpose in life is to do whatever it takes to return to my Heavenly Father and My Savior Jesus Christ and be surrounded by their infinite love for me. It is also my desire to have my children, husband, parents, siblings and all my loved ones there with me. I've always been a spiritual person even though I did not attend church. I believe we lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father as spirits before coming to earth to gain a physical body and be tested. I believe that when something is good and right that our spirits, will recognize the feeling because it reminds us of our previous home in Heaven. This is how I felt when I was taught by the missionaries, when I sit in the chapel, when i sing the hymns, hear the Prophet speak, and when I read the Book of Mormon. The Holy Ghost washes over me and I feel peace, warmth and joy. I've come to recognize that these feelings are the Spirit telling me that something is good and true. I am a Mormon because when I wasn't, I wasn't happy and i was feeling like something was missing. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the same as when Jesus established it on earth when He lived here. He restored it through the Prophet Joseph Smith who was directed by an angel to the golden plates that were engraved upon by our ancestors on the american continent. He translated the plates and called it the Book of Mormon. I have read and i know that the Book of Mormon is real, true and good. I believe in and read the Bible. Those two books as well as words of our modern prophets will help us and guide us back to Heavenly Father. I love our modern day prophet Thomas S Monson. I have hope that I can continue on the straight and narrow path and be exalted and have my "happily ever after".

How I live my faith

I enjoy my membership in the LDS church because it gives me so many opportunites to reach my potential, develop my talents and mostly to serve others. When I serve others I feel joy, i recieve answers to my prayers, i become more like Christ, I find my live to be enriched with wonderful relationships and many blessings that i am yearning for are realized. I teach a lesson once a month to all the woman in the church. I also go visiting teaching. Every sister has a companion and two woman that they care for. Once a month we visit with her and share a message with her to uplift and inspire her. We make sure her needs are met physically, emotionally and spiritually. We are there for her if she needs us. That way no sister is every without a friend or helping hand. When i had a baby my visiting teachers arranged meals and other help. When i moved they helped clean my house. When i am lonely or depressed they are somehow inspired to bring a plate of cookies. Other things i have done is taught children and teenagers, been in charge of fun activities for young girls, helped with activities for the woman. We put on activities that teach useful skills, or activities of service to others or sometimes just parties to celebrate and socialize. Sometimes I feel i may not be talented enough but little by little i develope my talent and feel more confident and capable. My activity at church has helped me in many ways in other areas of my life like my jobs or raising children or with my marriage. I am in the choir. I have the natural nuturing desires that are within all woman and through the organizations of the church I have had many opportunities to fulfill these desires. There are many ways to live my faith at home, in the community and at church and everytime i do i draw closer to God and feel his love in my life. Do we not all need peace, love and guidance? I sure do and the more I participate in the church and community the more blessed I am with these things.
