Hi I'm Jessica

I'm a recent college graduate. I'm a new mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated from college in May with a degree in geology and English. I am a brand new mom, loving every second, but still adjusting to the wonderful, daunting task of motherhood. I love to read and write short stories. I have a dream to one day be a published author. I love the outdoors. I like to hike, camp and fish, but mostly I like to hike to find cool rocks. I love to cook. One of my favorite things to do is to experiment and come up with new recipes...sometimes they turn out good. I also love music and playing the clarinet.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up with this Gospel as a part of my life. When I was very young, my parents were divorced. My mother continued to live by the principles of the Gospel, but my father did not. Growing up, I was able to witness what life was like with the Gospel as I lived with my mom, and what life was like without it when I would visit my dad. I soon learned through observation that life was so much better, so much happier and more peaceful with the Gospel. I am so grateful for a family that has taught me to live the correct, true principles of the Lord's church. I know that this Gospel is true with all of my heart. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and that it is a light for us today to lead us out of darkness. I know that my Savior lives, and he loves me more than I can comprehend. I know that He directs us through the scriptures and through a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me and my family, and that if I continue to live the Gospel and follow His commandments, that I will be blessed.

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, I have the opportunity to work with the children of the church. Our teaching theme for the children this year is "I Know My Savior Lives", so I get to teach the children about Jesus Christ, his ministry on earth, and the principles of His gospel. It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to spend time with and teach these sweet children because they are so excited to learn about Jesus Christ and the blessings that they can recieve by following His teachings.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost acts as a guide for us so that we can choose right from wrong and avoid dangerous situations. He also testifies to us of the truthfulness of things. If we have the gift of the Holy Ghost, we are better equipped to make righteous decisions which will lead us to eternal life. The Holy Ghost will also help us to gain and develop a testimony of the truthfulness of Gospel principles. Show more Show less
