Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I believe it to literally be the best thing on this earth. I believe that we are all good people of many various religions, but this is my happiness. I am a Mormon, because it makes me me. It makes me who I am, and who I eventually want to be. It rejuvenates me everyday to get out of bed, go to school, and eventually go to work. My personal opinion is that if I wasn't a Mormon, I would cease to be unique.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best person that I could possibly be, striving for perfectness. I know perfection seems like an impossible task, but I know that living the teachings of this church can literally become reachable. I try to follow all of the commandments God has given us, including the laws of the land and of the heavens. By being a good example to all of my friends and family, to portray that the church is helping and making the most out of my life. But most importantly that the church has increased every aspect of my daily life in all categories: Mentally, Spiritually, & Physically.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

I would most definitely say yes to that question. If you dress modestly Appropriately it simply allows others to see the kind of person that you are. I'm not saying that if you don't dress modestly you're a bad person, but it could result in people not respecting you and the body you have been given. It could lead your partner into only wanting what you have showed him, which could result in breaking the law of chastity. If you want respect, a partner to look for your beauty and to not lust over just your body.. you need to make the proper adjustments to your attire. Dressing modestly doesn't mean you need to wear a blanket, or wear tons of clothes, it means to not show off your body for everyone to see. Parents can teach their children simply by following the guidelines themselves, making no exception for age. Show more Show less

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a regular person just like you and I. He had his qualities and he had his flaws. He didn't have any "magical powers", or much schooling as he had to work with his father on their farm at a young age. What made Joseph Smith involved in the church was his curiosity. He was curious about various things, including which church to be a part of. So he simply prayed to God for some answers, had a miraculous experience, Heavenly Father accompanied by his son Jesus Christ appeared to him and gave Joseph the answers he truly desired.
