Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a wife, I'm a bereaved mother and a mother-to-be, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm a newly graduated dietitian and young wife trying to make it in the real world.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, but i'm not a Mormon because my parents expected it. I gained a testimony of the gospel at about the age of twelve. It was nothing earth shattering, but at some point I simply knew the Gospel was true, and as I strive to live my life in accordance with Gospel standards and principles that testimony only grows stronger. I am grateful to my father, whose family has been members for many generations, in fact many of our family members crossed the plains as pioneers, for staying strong in the faith that I might have it in my life, and for my mother who is a convert to the gospel, along with her parents and brother and sister, for having the faith at the age of fifteen to recognize that this is the true gospel, and because of their example, and personal prayer and revelation I too know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I read from the Book of Mormon, Bible, and other religious texts daily, I attend religious classes during the week, as well as attending a three hour block of church every Sunday. I organize spiritual music for large meetings several times a year, and I strive to live my life in the way that Christ himself would want me to.

Are Mormons Christians?

This is one of my favorite questions, and the answer is a resounding YES Mormons are Christians, it's in our name, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Book of Mormon testifies in and rejoices in the coming of the Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the center of our church, we believe that without His sacrifice we cannot be saved, and I am so grateful for His willingness to come to this earth and suffer and die that each one of us on this earth if we live in accordance to His teachings to the best of our abilities may be saved. Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Mormons are believers in Christ as the Redeemer of the world as is discussed throughout the Old and New Testament. We believe the Bible to be the word of God. We also believe in the Book of Mormon, but what many don't understand is that we believe that the Book of Mormon is ANOTHER Testament of Jesus Christ. We do not think it discounts the Bible in any way, RATHER, we believe that the Book of Mormon and the Bible strengthen each other as they both witness of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
