Hi I'm David Michael Scott

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

About Me

I grew up in a small northern California town. I went to college at Brigham Young University where I met my wife and finished my undergraduate degree. I enjoy restoring motorcycles (just finished a 1979 KZ650 cafe racer), art and talking with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1949, my grandfather joined the Mormon Church when my father was about the same age as my son is now. I was raised believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ and learned from my parents as I watched them through the years. In high school I had early morning swim practice, leaving me with 20-30 minutes of time early in the morning before school. I often would sit in my car before class and read from the Book of Mormon and the New Testament and think about life. I am a Mormon because I love my Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

The other day I heard somebody say that people should strive to be simple and deep, not complex and shallow. I have often thought about how I live my faith. I demonstrate my faith in God and Jesus Christ as I work hard at being a good father and husband and an honest neighbor.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

David Michael Scott
Mormon's believe that all are sons and daughters of God; everyone. Accordingly Mormon's willingly give of their time and resources to help those in need, without regard to religious affiliation. Show more Show less

What is faith?

David Michael Scott
For me, faith is a deep and abiding trust in God. To have faith is to believe in Him and to keep His commandments. The degree to which a person lives in accordance with the creeds that they believe is the measure of their faith. Show more Show less
