Hi I'm Mike

I'm a pianist, a student, a chef, an amateur photographer. I love life, my family, and all my friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well, this may sound pretty vague, the best way that I can describe myself is as me. I'm currently a student of music and psychology--two of my most favourite topics. I'm a pianist, I have been for almost all of my life. I like to think that I do cool things: I cook, (kinda) dance, love to read, hike, do outdoor photography, compose and arrange music, volunteer, garden, climb on top of things, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

Sometimes the things that don't quite seem to make sense actually mean all the difference. I'm a Mormon because of my testimony of Jesus Christ. In my pursuit to know Him and His Father I have learned that this faith is verified and validated by the Holy Spirit. I choose to be a Mormon. I choose to have access to all the covenants necessary tone able to return to my God through the grace and atonement of Jesus Christ. I won't explain the minutia of my beliefs. That's not necessary. I'm a Mormon. It's as simple as that.

How I live my faith

Foremost, I strive each day to live and conduct myself in a way that I feel follows the highest standards of conduct that I can live. That's fine and dandy, but what does it mean? I'm honest in my dealings. If I can, I put off my own desires (or comfy seat on the bus) to help another. It's more to me than being labelled a "Mormon" wherever I go; instead it's about having a reputation of compassion and trust. Moreover, I love to inspire people: to encourage them and support them, even in times of uncertainty and trials. I have a firm testimony of the power of the Book of Mormon in that from its pages anyone can gain an understanding of all things. Because of that faith, I know that I have been blessed with an optimism about life more than sufficient to carry me through each day. And with that gift of optimism, I seek to encourage and uplift anyone that I come into contact with. "Let your light so shine forth that others may see your good works and glorify our Father in Heaven." That phrase of scripture from Jesus Christ found in both the New Testament AND the Book of Mormon is one of my guiding mantras. It works. And I know it's true.
