Hi I'm Jershon

I grew up on Guam. I'm a physics grad student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

1. I like watching college football and basketball. 2. I like cooking things in the crock-pot. 3. I married the most beautiful girl this side of Jupiter. 4. I have a 2 year old son and another one on the way! 5. I'm working on a PhD at the University of Iowa. I study space plasma. 6. I caught brown tree snakes in Guam when I was a child. One time I caught a 3-foot moniter lizard. 7. I served a mission in Edmonton, Canada. I love the cold. 8. I'm filipino, but, regrettably, I don't speak Tagalog. 9. I'm five foot three inches of pure muscle. Ok, that's a half truth. 10. I'm an eagle scout. Favorite part about scouting: pulling pranks at campouts.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I have been a member all my life, I choose to remain a devoted member for two reasons. First, it gives my life purpose and meaning. Knowing where I came from and where I'm going after I die gives me peace. I know that things happen for a reason. I know that I have a Father in heaven who is cares about me. Second, I want to be with my wife and kids forever. This is the only church that has the authority to seal families forever. My marriage is bound by a covenant we made in a holy temple of God. We will be together even after this life.

How I live my faith

My calling, or job (no one gets paid though), in the church is ward mission leader. I am in charge of helping the missionaries in our ward, or congregation. I work as the middle-man between the missionaries and the other members of the ward to coordinate efforts in helping other people learn about the church. I also help them teach lessons whenever I can. Oh, and I feed them dinner sometimes. If you ever get the chance, feed the missionaries!
