Hi I'm Glen Brooksby

I'm an electrical engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area in California. After obtaining a BSEE and working for a time in California, I moved to New York where I obtained my MEng and now work for a major corporate research center. I'm married with four children. I enjoy spending time with my family just about any way I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In my late teens it became clear to me that this was something that needed to be my own decision. After much study and prayer I felt a conviction that the Gospel taught by this church was, indeed true. As I've gone through life I've had many opportunities to revisit that decision and always come away with the same conclusion, confirmed by study and prayer. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is taught in it's fullness by this church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. It is a part of who I am at home, at work or anywhere. In the church I serve in a leadership position that allows me to meet members of the church, young and old, over a wide geographical area. I enjoy worshiping with them, but also gathering as friends at dances, barbecues or other social activities. Singing in church choirs has always been a favorite activity of mine.

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

Glen Brooksby
I'm an engineer by training. I understand the laws of nature to the degree that mankind has been able to understand them. Yet as I look at the vastness of the universe and the complexities of nature and ecosystems, I believe that these were not simply accidents of nature. My understanding of nature and it's laws confirms my belief in God. It does not call it into question. To quote Henry Eyring, "Is there any conflict between Science and Religion? There is no conflict in the mind of God." That sums up my belief. Show more Show less

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Glen Brooksby
No. This practice was abandoned well over 100 years ago. Show more Show less
