Hi I'm Bryce

I was raised in Calgary Alberta. I spent many years in retail management and corporate accounting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the Father of 6 and the Stepfather of 4. One of my favourite activities is growing things. I enjoy singing in choirs and small groups along with participating in musical theatre. Other hobbies I like are dancing, family history research, travel, reading & movies. I was educated in Marketing and Accounting and have spent most of my life in Retail and or Accounting. I am retired.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church and have participated in its activities throughout my life; however personal conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints comes not just from participation in the church. Participation only enhances your life giving you direction and a firm foundation on which to live. My conversion is a lifetime of feeling and being taught by the Holy Ghost, who is the third member of the Godhead. When inspiration comes through the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit it comes sometime in small ways and sometimes very big ways. Sometimes it is comfort when faced with the death of a loved one or strength through serious problems. The Holy Spirit also offers me direction in my life. Most importantly the Holy ghost testifies from His spirit to my spirit that Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world, that His atonement was for the suffering of my sins and that through repentance and continued righteousness I will be able to return to live with Him and my Heavenly Father. Yes I say return because I know that we all lived with our Father in Heaven where He created our spirits before he sent us here to gain a body to clothe our spirit. We saw that our Father had a glorified body of flesh and bone. He loves us and wanted to provide us the opportunity to come to earth to gain a physical body; to experience joy and pain, health and sickness, good and bad, right and wrong. With this experience He gave us the freedom to choose how we act, along with His guidance, living Prophets, His scriptures, the Holy Ghost and His Beloved Son Jesus Christ. The three making up the Godhead, each separate and distinct but all working with one purpose in mind. This purpose is to bring as many back to him as will listen and obey, where we then would have a continuation of life with Him forever as his resurrected children. Resurrected meaning our spirit and our physical body reunited inseparably forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live the Teachings of Jesus Christ on a daily basis. This brings peace to my life, a purpose for living and draws me closer to God. I spend time reading the scriptures each day. I pray with my Family and individually morning and night or whenever needed. I am specific in my prayers and receive answers, direction and comfort. Involvement in the Church allows me to serve in the Church and in the community. One hobby I mentioned was singing. My wife and I have sung Handel's Messiah together for ten years with a 275 voice choir and a 25 to 35 piece orchestra from our church. This was done each Christmas as a gift to the community. I enjoyed serving on a Library board and as President for three years. It is amazing what can happen with a few people working together! I believe in sharing my knowledge and happiness that comes from The Church of Jesus Christ. As a young man of 19 I served a two year mission for the church and now that I am retired I plan on serving several more. Yes, I believe in Christ and I am a Christian.
