Hi I'm Robert Collins

I like outdoor activities and doing things with my family. Movies are a fun past time as well.

About Me

I am a graduate of Arizona State University, School of Design/Architecture. I currently own a business. I enjoy out door activities like camping, river rafting, hiking, repelling, and similar activities. College football is a favorite time for me; I enjoy watching some of my favorite teams, especially at bowl time. It also feels like a new start even though January is the New Year. I enjoy the Christmas holiday, because of the giving attitude that prevails in our society. My children are getting older, my oldest daughter is also attending ASU, go Devils. My oldest son is serving a full time mission in Lansing Michigan. My next few children are in high school sports programs, I am looking forward to watching them play this year. My wife and I have two small children that keep our family hoping and they are a joy to have around.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of my belief in Jesus Christ. I know that through him and by living by his example we can be a better people and society. God loves all of us, regardless of what we have done. I know that our heavenly father wants us to be happy and enjoy the good things of this life. He wants us to learn and grow. I know that as we do this, we can gain strength and understanding of what he would like us to do here on this earth, during the short time we are here. I love the Book of Mormon because of the simple truths it teaches; it is another testament of Jesus Christ. Together with the Holy Bible, we have important information that helps us learn and grow spiritually. I know that Joseph Smith Jr. is a true prophet of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I know that righteous men are called by God to serve us today, as prophets, to give us guidance we need to navigate our challenges. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of his church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. In the church we donate our time to help others in our wards. A ward is a unit of members and non-members that live in a geographical area. I take time each day to strengthen my testimony by reading my scriptures and having personal prayer. My family does the same so we can all learn and grow. I have spent over 15 years serving the young men in scouting program and helping many youth receive their eagle scout awards, duty to god awards and in general be better people in our society. I love the youth they are our future, so we need to work with parents to help them teach and guide our youth. I am grateful for good leaders especially in our scouting program that helps me teach my children how to be and act in today’s world.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Robert Collins
I receive comfort in reading the scriptures. It helps me solve problems that arise in my daily activities. It helps me to understand who I am, where I come from and where I am going. I love the scriptures. I have prayed and asked my heavenly father to tell me if they are true. I have received an answer through the Holy Ghost that they are. I feel at ease, or comforted when I read them and when I don’t it seems that my life gets a little more hectic. So in order to keep my life grounded, I read from the entire Bible and the Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
