Hi I'm Mardi

I grew up in a typical dysfunctional family. Lived paycheck to paycheck. I am one of the HAPPIEST people I know and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very dysfunctional family. I didn't have a good father figure in my life. I was kicked out of my home at the age of 17, and lived on my own from that point on. Life was rough to say the least. I struggled for about 27 years trying to figure out life! Heavenly Father blessed me.. He gave me a wonderful tender mercy. I married at a late age 'some would say'. I have an amazing husband, who I adore and would do anything for. I also have a daughter that makes me feel so lucky to be her mom!

Why I am a Mormon

I lived a lifestyle that was not conducive to Heavenly Fathers plan for Eternal Families. I felt that I was going no where fast! But thought, that since I was a "good person" that I has going to be "OK" and go to Heaven. In 2008, I was walking down the street and saw two missionaries walking by me (I had always seen them)... In fact during the past 20+ years they had knocked on my door several times. I was polite to them, but didn't want to "hear their message". But this day was different! I was so incredibly tired of going around in circles. It felt like I was in a boat, with only one ore... For some reason that day I was more humbled, I called out to them... " Hey, Missionaries, can I talk to you?". I knew that they would want to 'convert me', but I was ready! They made an appointment with me. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace! My daughter and I had our first meeting with them, she was 12 and her first question to the missionaries was. "Can I go to Heaven, if I'm not baptized in your church" that was the beginning of our journey and our families conversion. We are all baptized now, and since 2010, have been sealed for Time and all Eternity. There are no words to describe how truly happy I am now. I have two ores in my boat! Now I'm going somewhere..... :-)

How I live my faith

I love, love, love, that we all serve eachother! It brings me such joy to serve others. I get to meet with other ladies and visit them on a regular basis and help them as they need me to. I also have visitors come and help me and my family! Isn't that the way the Savior wanted it to be? He always served people and made their lives easier. That's what we do for each other in our church. I'm so excited, I get to be a part of this years Christmas Exhibit and concert series! It is amazing and so much fun, to see hundreds of volunteers in our church, volunteer to help put on this wonderful event for the general public to come and see FOR FREE! I Love it!
