Hi I'm Elliot

I was a missionary in Tokyo. I am a college student. I am a happy Latter-Day Saint.

About Me

Let's see, where to start. I am an Eagle Scout. I am a very big movie fan. I play the violin. I enjoy reading all sorts of books. I love music. Right now I am going to college. I am leaning towards becoming a teacher, but we will see where the wind blows me. I also enjoy some good ice cream.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in a large Mormon community. My whole family is Mormon. While this initially was the reason for my membership in the church, that is not the reason now. My parents and church leaders have set really good examples for me. I have had various experiences that have strengthened me spiritually as an individual. I have also had experiences where I have felt sorrow and the lack of the church in my life. I know that God loves not only me, but everybody on this earth. I continue to follow this faith because it makes me happy. I feel emotions that I have not felt anywhere else.

How I live my faith

My relationship with my Heavenly Father is a very personal one. I don't like to go around, shouting from the hilltops what a great and dedicated follower I am. I strive to have daily prayer and personal scripture study. I also pray for opportunities to testify to those around me. I find that the best way for me to live is through example. Actions speak louder than words right? Right now I am helping teach a missionary prep. course. This is for kids that are thinking abut going on missions. I want kids to serve missions so badly. When I think of how much my mission means to me, I can't help but want that for somebody else.

Are Mormons Christians?

Here are two definitions of the word 'Christian' that I found online: a person who believes in Jesus Christ adherent of Christianity. a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ These definitions fail to mention any association with any church groups. That's because Christ is for everybody. I am always a little bothered when people say that Mormons are not Christian, as if they know what I believe better than I do. It offends me because I have such a deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When I have felt alone, He has been there. He has forgiven me and wants the best for me. He continues to guide me. Not only is He my Savior and Redeemer, but He is my friend. Mormons are Christian. We strive to exemplify the Savior in every aspect of our lives. After all, the name of our church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Show more Show less
