Hi I'm Adam

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Hawaii. am an attorney, and enjoy spending time at the beach, surfing, camping, cooking, reading, watching movies, playing sports, and most of all spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church and was baptized when I was 8 years old. When I was a teenager, I began seriously studying the Book of Mormon for the first time myself. On one particular night, I finished reading in the Book of Mormon and had an overhwelming feeling of peace and joy. I knew that the feeling was the Holy Ghost testifying to me that the Book of Mormon was true. I served a two-year full-time mission and enjoyed serving others and teaching the gospel. After my mission I attended college, married, went to law school, and started a family. I am Mormon because I know the gospel is true and am grateful for the Savior and the teachings of the restored gospel.

How I live my faith

As a Mormon, I try to pray and study the scriptures daily. My wife and I pray and study the scriptures, and we also do so as a family. Our family dedicates one night each week to a gospel-oriented lesson and activity. We also try to eat dinner together as a family every day and to use that time to discuss gospel principles. In my ward, I assist the Bishop, the leader of our ward, in administrative responsibilities. As a family, we try to participate in community service activities and to teach our children to be involved in the Church and community.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

I have a great love for the Bible regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God. We also believe that the Book of Momon is the word of God and is a volume of scripture that is a companion to the Bible. Both books teach about the Savior, his ministry, and teachings. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a member of the Mormon Church is like becoming part of a large family. Not all families are perfect. We all make mistakes. But, we teach each other, love one another, serve each other, and try to help each other the best we can. As a member of the Church, I know that I am never alone. There is always someone I can turn to for help. It is a great support system to know that we are all striving to live the gospel and serve one another. Show more Show less

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

It seems like the morals and standards of society are degrading. We try to teach our children to dress modestly and to respect their bodies. We believe that our physical bodies are a sacred gift from our Heaveny Father and that the power of procreation is sacred. Our children will respect this power as they learn to respect their bodies and to be modest in dress, language, and behavior. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell to you there is a God?

There are many things that tell me there is a God. I live on a beautiful island and enjoy looking at the ocean, the beach, the sunrise, the flowers, trees, and plants, all of which help me feel close to our Heavenly Father. I also feel close to my Heavenly Father when I am spending time with my family, teaching my children, and serving others. Show more Show less

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

I believe that our marriage and family relations are happiest when they are founded on the teachings of the Savior. Jesus Christ is our perfect example. In our family we try to follow His teachings and to be Christ-like in our interactions with each other. Show more Show less
