Hi I'm Don

I'm an orthopedic spine surgeon. I am a private pilot with my twin engine IFR rating. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful and talented wife who had a career as a United Airlines pilot and a CPA! We have 6 children in our blended family. I am a private pilot and have owned a turbo T-tail Lance and a turbo Saratoga. I sing for fun. I have sung in a barbershop quartet for many years and sing tenor in the local community Master Chorale for 20 years. I enjoy water skiing, wake boarding and boating.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a LDS home, but only my oldest sister and I attended Church. I had prayers answered many times as a teenager in such profound ways that I gained a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Christ.I am a Mormon because the teachings and principles taught make sense to me. I believe that God loves us, His children, as much today as he did through the ages recorded in the Bible. If He would send prophets to guide His people then, then why not now? I believe that God called a prophet in our time to restore the fullness of the Gospel of Christ. The Mormon Church shares 90% of the principles of the Gospel in common with most other conservative Christian denominations. Those few differences just make good sense to me.

How I live my faith

I attend Church weekly. I have always held a job in the Church of some sort. I spent 2 years as a missionary in Korea, taught Sunday School classes and served as a Bishop for a period of time. I think it is a basic principle of the Gospel to be in service to our fellowmen. So I donate money to many charitable causes in my community and helped to run a sex addiction 12 Step Group for 5 years.
