Hi I'm Shawn

I grew up in the United States in Utah. I started my own ecommerce business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in my youth. I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Phoenix, AZ. I graduated in Manufacturing Engineering. I married my beautiful wife in the Salt Lake Temple. We have been blessed by the Lord with 5 beautiful children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord Jesus Christ's restored church on the earth in these days. I know Heavenly Father answers prayers. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God. When I regularly study the scriptures, I feel closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. In my youth I studied the church to learn its doctrines. I also regularly read from the scriptures. I prayed to Heavenly Father to know if it was true. I felt a witness of the spirit confirming that it is true. It has helped me in my life to strive to be a better person.

How I live my faith

I try to study the scriptures and church lessons each week. I strive to apply what I learn to be a better individual, husband and father. I serve currently in the church as the Executive Secretary to the Bishop. I schedule appointments for people to meet with the Bishop. I also help out with the ward website. This involves helping people to get registered or answer other ward website questions. Serving as a home teacher, my companion and I visit families in the ward. During our visits we pray and share a gospel message with them. We try to determine any needs they might have.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Shawn
James in the New Testament and Moroni, a prophet in the Book of Mormon, both answer this question. James 1:5-6 reads: "5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." Moroni 10:3-5 reads: "3 Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. 4 And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 5 And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Basically, we need to read the scriptures and the doctrines, remember the Lord's mercy, and ponder these doctrines in our hearts. We then need to pray to our Heavenly Father, asking him in faith if these things are true. If, we have real intent to act on his will, He will manifest the truth of Mormonism to us by the power of the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
