Hi I'm Ivan

I'm a Bulgarian. I love languages, bass, friends, and family - and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student and I'm majoring in Spanish Studies and minoring in Business Management. Languages are my passion. I hope to go on to grad school in the near future. I love life. For me, there are few things in this world better than a nice stereo and subs. Music keeps me going. Hip-hop or classical, jazz or rock... makes no difference to me. Behind Deseret Book, my favorite store would have to be Best Buy. I ride motorcycles, play guitar and piano, and love to rock climb. I love traveling. To me, there is no place in the world like Austria. I'm never too cold and I like the snow a ton. I am who I am because of my family and their prayers. After Jesus Christ, my mom is my greatest example. Not a day goes by without me reflecting on my Savior and the things I have learned from Him. :D Make sure you smile!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I am happier when I live the teachings of Christ. His teachings and the teachings of His church are what bring us true joy. Don't know if this is His church? "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." - John 7:17 Living according to the teachings of this church has made me happier. I have asked God if this is His church. I have lived its teachings. I have my own answer. I don't "speak of myself" when I say that I know this is Christ's church. All anyone needs to do is have a desire to know. Then, try it. My own experience is the reason I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by my attitude. Life is too short to hate. I look to find ways to strengthen and serve others. We all have different talents. I try to gain as many as I can and share them with others. I think that making one person smile can help that individual feel closer to Christ. In turn, all those who are close to him or her feel happy too. Some of the best words I have heard suggest that we quit tearing down and seek instead to edify in all that we do. Love. Pray. Read the words of the Lord. Do what's right. Help someone out. I feel myself grow as I do those things.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Ivan
Faith is action. You have a belief in something, namely Jesus Christ, and then you act upon it. You increase your faith as you find new ways to act upon your beliefs. If you feel that a certain habit isn't all that good, change it. Trust that as you strive to be better, the Lord will strengthen and bless you. He will reward you as you take 5 minutes each day to find and serve someone else. Rather than just read a Psalm, study it. Search for a reference to what we should do or how we should be. Then, live it. It's the small things that make big differences. Try keeping a journal, saying "thank you," or doing something without being asked. Go the extra little bit, and you will see how your faith grows. Show more Show less
