Hi I'm Cheryl

I was raised in California. I am a RDH, we have 4 children. I enjoy dog training and painting, and Im Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in California, Colorado, Oregon, Oklahoma and now, we just moved to Texas. We have two kids in college and 1 working full time, and 1 still living at home. Sports and work and family keep us pretty busy, but I find time to train the dogs and I recently took up painting. Im really enjoying that. I have been a Dental Hygienist for 20 years and have been married for 20 years. One of our sons just got married this past year, and we are so thrilled to welcome his lovely bride to our family. We only have one girl so we are so excited about girls joining us! I came from a family of nine children so I love hanging out with my sisters and brother. We have the best family get togethers! We lost my Dad 10 years ago and we still miss him, but I am so thankful for my knowledge of the gospel and my belief that we will see him again, some day.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am Mormon is a touch question, rather, there isnt a simple answer. On one hand, I was born and raised in a LDS home, so you could say, I didnt know any different, on the other hand, I havent lived near home in a long time and I have had lots of interactions with other religions and opportunities to evaluate my beliefs and I came to realize that the LDS teaching resonate with my soul. Its "Feels" right, like you just came home, or remembered something you knew once before. The focus and principles taught are simple and pure. No hidden agenda, no personal gain for any one. Its about getting to know your Savior and to love him. To follow him. His example, his teachings, not the teaching of the world. To understand who we are in this big scheme and what our role is as a daughter, a wife, a Mother, and what the Eternities hold for us. Realizing that there was a plan from the beginning. A goal to return to our Father in Heaven and a simple plan to follow. I guess thats why Im Mormon. Its a win-win. Worse case scenario, what if there wasnt a heaven...and I followed the teaching of the LDS church, then what? I lived a good life. What I dont want to happen, is to find out there IS a heaven, and I didnt live my life right....THAT is something Im not willing to risk. I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because its teaching feel right.

How I live my faith

People think its hard being a Mormon, but thats really not the case. We live just like everyone else does. I work, I attend sporting events, Im on the booster clubs and selling candy bars to everyone I meet. We attend church meetings every Sunday and love our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I have had many opportunities to serve the members in our church by teaching singing time to the kids or teaching the ladies class, as well as teaching the Young ladies. Spending time with our family is one of my favorite things to do, whether its going to the movies or six flags, or just staying home and doing chores, there is no one else Id rather spend my life with, then my family. We pray together, every day. I believe this is a big part of why we are such a close family. It sure isnt because we are perfect parents! But we sure do love our family. Im soo grateful that we can be a family throughout eternity. Knowing that makes "life's tough moments" appear a little smaller.
