Hi I'm Lynette

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I live in the United States of America, the land of opportunity. I am married and a mother of 4 children two girls and two boys. I recently opened a hair salon and am learning a lot about owning a business. I work while my children are in school and am home when they are home. It is a great life!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family, but when I went away to college I started to really evaluate my faith, wanting to make sure I was truly following my Savior. In order to make this discovery, I took several steps. First, I prayed night and day to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly Jesus Christ's Church. Second, I read a lot! I read the Bible. I read the Book of Mormon. I read everything I could get my hands on about religion. I took a Religions of the World class. I went to my church. I went to different friend's churches. I talked to a lot of people. After researching, I felt it was most important to find out if the Book of Mormon is the word of God, because I concluded that if the Book of Mormon is the word of God then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has to be His church. I knew my loving Father in Heaven and my Savior, Jesus Christ, would not allow a true book to come from a false source. I picked a weekend to start a 24-hour fast, going without food or drink. I started my fast with a prayer, asking Heavenly Father to help me know the truth of the Book of Mormon. I went for a run the following morning and concluded I will go home and pray until I know the answer without any doubt. I did so, and was on my knees for what seemed an eternity. It was maybe an hour or so. I was then, prompted to get up and read from the Book of Mormon. I did not realize the section left off on in the Book of Mormon would change my life for the good, forever. I started reading in Alma 545 "45. Do ye not suppose that I know of these things myself? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety? 46. Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me. 47. And moreover, I say unto you that it has thus been revealed unto me, that the words which have been spoken by our fathers are true, even so according to the spirit of prophecy which is in me, which is also by the manifestation of the Spirit of God. 48. I say unto you, that I know of myself that whatsoever I shall say unto you, concerning that which is to come, is true and I say unto you, that I know that Jesus Christ shall come, yea, the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, and mercy, and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth on his name." I knew then, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. The Holy Ghost testified of this to me through a prophet of old, Alma, from the Book of Mormon. I also knew the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ's church. I strove from that day forward to follow my Savior and do what I can to build up His church. And I am happy and filled with peace. I want this for everyone. I share these things with you in the name of our powerful and loving Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith
