Hi I'm Jacob

I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. I work as a machinist rebuilding engines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have recently been married and currently attend college pursuing a business degree and also a degree in automotive technology. I work in a machine shop rebuilding automotive engines. I have always been involved in sports like football, basketball, track & field, baseball, and I love fishing. I also love working with my hands such as auto repairs and small household repairs.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I did not have any knowledge of the church, that is until I met a girl in high school who became my girlfriend. She invited me to attend church with her. The first time I attended church I was not completely comfortable simply because I didnt know anyone and I wasnt familar with the church services. I had attended catholic services many years earlier in my life. I continued to attend church for the next year and a half. I was baptized a few days after my 18th birthday. In church I learned about our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost. I learned about the commandments and many principles of the Gospel. I began to make changes in my life due to the things I was learning. I read the Book of Mormon and even though I did not fully understand it the first time I felt the Spirit as I read and I knew that it must be true. The Plan of Salvation was taught to me for the first time and it made perfect sense to me. I felt happier and I expereienced many blessings in my life so I knew that the changes I was making were right and I was on the right path. After one year I served a mission for two years in India. I loved every moment of my mission. I saw many people make the same changes I had made and I saw them experience similar blessings I had. I know that God lives and loves all of His children. Jesus Christ came to this earth and gave an example to us. He atoned for the sins of all people. We can all repent and be clean and one day return to live with God our Father and with our families.

How I live my faith

I served as a missionary for two years in India. It was a great blessing for those that I taught but I feel that it was a greater blessing for me to serve a mission. My testimony was strengthen and my faith made firm. I have worked in the young mens program teaching youth. Currently I am a missionary in my ward. I help the full time missionaries in teaching and I also do my best in finding others to teach the Gospel to. I, along with a companion, visit a few select familes in our ward to visit each month and teach. I do my best to be an example to those around me such as at work. I hope that they can see that I am a man of faith and believes and follows the Savior.
