Hi I'm Jeremy

I'm a sports fan, music lover, family man, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have three small children and a fourth on the way. I'm a passionate college football fan. I'm a terrible golfer, but it makes me happy to be outside on a golf course with family or friends. I enjoy all types of music, but I am particularly fond of film scores. I'm an attorney in the Kansas City area, and I love helping others solve problems in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

This is the faith of my fathers. I respect my ancestors who joined the church and sacrificed so much to be Mormons. I've read their journals and I am amazed by their faith and the trials they endured. I believe the principles taught in the church lead to happiness. I don't think the church or its leaders are perfect, but I think the church will continue to grow and progress. The church with its structure, ordinances, programs, callings, teachings, conferences, scriptures, etc., help me remember God and help me make righteous choices.

How I live my faith

Each day we try to read scriptures and pray as a family. My wife started a service club made up of families from different faiths in our community and we work with many different faith based organizations. Each month we combine our efforts to help others in need. This weekend we are taking sack lunches to the poor. We want to teach our kids what the gospel is all about. Once a month I meet with the ministerial alliance in my community to discuss interfaith service and worship opportunities. I love to discuss the gospel and learn from those of different faiths and beliefs. I served a two year mission in Toronto, Canada, and I was blessed to worship with people from many cultures. I have been blessed with many opportunities to teach the youth and young children in my congregation. For two years I taught high school students from the scriptures, every school day, from six to seven in the morning. I currently run the "singing time" each Sunday for the little kids at church. I'm trying to repent and become more like Jesus Christ. I want to be a worthy disciple, and I'm trying to do the things Jesus and the prophets taught about in the scriptures. I try to be honest with myself about my many weaknesses and pray for help and I try to improve.
