Hi I'm Kari.

I'm a teacher turned stay-at-home mom. I'm a Marine wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While my husband, who is in the US Marine Corps, is out saving the world, I stay at home with our adorable baby boy. I keep myself busy with lots of hobbies, including sewing, baking, cooking, kickboxing, exercising, decorating, serving, scrapbooking, and just about anything else girlie that you can think of! I love to be outdoors hiking, boating, biking and just enjoying nature. I used to teach junior high school, but am taking a break so I can be at home to raise my children. I have the greatest family in the world. They are everything to me.

Why I am a Mormon

Living the way that Christ teaches and following His commandments brings me true joy. The Gospel gives me a purpose in life. It gives me hope and peace. I know who I am and why I am here on this earth. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the full Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Mormon doctrine makes sense to me in my mind, but even more importantly, I feel in my heart that it is true. It has provided the answers to so many of life's questions.

How I live my faith

The scriptures teach us that as we serve others we are also serving God. Service, whether it be towards my family, friends, or a complete stranger, is one way that I show my love towards my Father in heaven. I love to find little ways to brighten someone's day. I love the many opportunities the Church gives me to serve. Christ was the perfect example of service and when I follow that example, I feel so happy!

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes indeed! The definition of the word "Christian" is "one who believes in Christ". The actual name of the Mormon church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is Christ's church. He is the center. It is Him whom we worship, emulate, and serve. Only through Him can we be made clean and return to live with God. Some think we are not Christian because we believe in prophets, such as Joseph Smith. We believe that prophets are men God has called to lead His children here on earth. He has always called prophets, such as Moses and Noah. We believe that He still does call prophets, but this church is not the prophet's church, it is Christ's church. Show more Show less

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Our bodies are precious gifts from our loving Father in heaven. We must respect that gift by taking care of our bodies and not defiling them in any way. That is why Mormons do not take any harmful substances into our bodies, such as coffee, alcohol, or drugs. We believe in eating healthy foods, exercising, and taking the best care of our bodies as possible. That is also why Mormons dress modestly. You've probably noticed that Mormons don't wear revealing clothing. We believe that our bodies are temples, a place for the Holy Ghost to dwell. When we dress modestly, we invite the companionship of the Spirit. The way we dress shows the Lord that we know how precious our body is and shows others that we are disciples of Christ.
