Hi I'm Heidi

I grew up in a family that instilled in me strong faith and love for God. My faith has taught me who I am and who God is.

About Me

I love life, especially when I'm with my husband and three children. I love to teach water aerobics. I love to test and create recipes in the kitchen and I love to eat! I have a child with a rare genetic disorder called PKU (phenylketonuria). I enjoy working in my vegetable garden. I love talking about religion, especially to people of other faiths and also enjoy learning about other beliefs.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family that instilled in me a strong faith and love for God. My parents set a good example and helped me come to know my Savior through prayer and family fun. The principles of the gospel I learned growing up have helped me through many bumps along the road, and I rely on them so much as I raise my own family. Being a Mormon has shown me a way to find joy in my life's journey and gives me a conviction for life!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day, and love looking for evidence of God throughout each day. As a family, we worship together at church each Sunday. We also pray over meals and together before bed. We read scriptures daily, even it's just a few verses. We have time set aside each Monday for our family to be together and talk about what we believe. These simple commitments help us feel in harmony with God and we find so much joy in centering our home around Jesus Christ and His teachings. I also love spending time working with girls ages 12-18, which is the most fun of all - I love getting to experience my youth for the second time! We study together on Sundays and do fun activities and service projects on Wednesdays. I also get to visit with a few women in their homes on a monthly basis where we discuss gospel principles and find ways to love and support each other.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Heidi
A testimony is a statement of beliefs. For me, it is personal feelings or convictions about specific truths made known to me through prayer, scripture study and spiritual experiences. My testimony is simple. I know we have a Father in Heaven who loves us. I have felt His love repeatedly in my life and believe He is the same yesterday, today and forever. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I know he came to this earth and died for us. I know that as we pattern our lives after His, we can have ultimate happiness.  I believe we have a living prophet now as in days of old, and I believe the Book of Mormon to be another testament of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
