Hi I'm Tennessa

I'm musician and music teacher. I'm a college graduate. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a college graduate in Clarinet Performance. I love playing for people. I also love the outdoors and do things like hiking, snowboarding, and any other outdoor activities. I also enjoy puzzles and brain teasers.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I prayed and got an answer I could not deny. I was born and raised in the religion but in high school and was lost and alone. I had been hurt most of my life and questioned if God was even really there. This bothered me a lot and I began to search for Him. Our church has what we call Girl's Camp where the young women of the church go camping for a week. I was a camp counselor that year and wanted to go because I love camping. At that point I think I hit rock bottom and felt that there was no God and no true church. Then at the end of camp we had a testimony meeting where we bore our witness of the things we know. The way we bore testimony for camp that particular year was in a circle with a glow stick. The glow stick was the light of Christ and when it was your turn to bear your testimony you broke the glow stick and it lit up. When it was my turn I heart brokenly told them that I didn't have a testimony and to move on in the circle. It was so sad. After the meeting they started to sing songs of reverence and one song hit me: Father, I adore thee and I lay my life before thee. How I love thee. They sang those words with Jesus and Spirit then in a round. I feeling I got hit me so strong I couldn't stand. I can't describe the feeling but that it was like a burning in my chest. Then in my mind I knew. I knew exactly what it was because I was taught all my life what it was. It was the Spirit or the power of the Holy Ghost and it was testifying that God was real and was answering my prayer. What peace! Then many more experiences followed that, that healed me from the pain that filled my soul with such sorrow. I felt the power of the Savior, Jesus Christ and his atonement and the truthfulness of this Church. I know it's true. I know that Joseph Smith really saw God the Father and Jesus Christ our Savior. I know because I searched like Joseph Smith and got answer similar to Joseph Smith. It wasn't a vision but the feelings I felt were just as powerful and truth confirming.

How I live my faith

I am a teacher for the women in our ward or our congregation in my area. I teach the principles and doctrines of the church and how to apply it to our busy crazy lives today. I am a young single adult and try to live what I believe by trying to be more like the Savior like helping others, being kind and working hard in everything that I do.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

We baptize new members because when they a gain a testimony of the church and that we are only ones with the authority to act in God's name then they know that they need to be baptized by the proper authority. Show more Show less
