Hi I'm Rebecca

I grew up in a small town in Idaho where I learned to love the outdoors with fishing and camping. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a Mormon and it is the best thing I have ever chosen to do. Another important area of my life is my family they are the most important people in my life , my husband, children and grandchildren. I have deep feelings of love for each of them and enjoy being with them as often as I can. They bring so much joy, happiness and satisfaction into my life. I have always loved being a mother and now being a grandmother is truly so fun and joyful it just keeps on giving, family life. At this very time I am undergoing treatment for breast cancer and learning how to deal with this disease. Through prayers and fasting on my behalf of many I have been able to endure the radiation well. I have felt God's love and support for and with me. I also like to research genealogy, travel, read, crochet, serve, watch old movies, swim and visit with my girl friends. My husband is my best friend and a great strength and support in my life. I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer and have begun this life changing journey. I am supported by my family, my faith in Jesus Christ, friends and the gospel. I try to keep an eternal perspective and not just live in the here and now, but look also to the future and its many blessings.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to wonder so often is this all there is to life?. To just eat, drink and be merry would be the thoughts that went through my mind.often. I could not find the answers.to why am I here, where am I going and what am I supposed to be doing? I felt that there had to be more to life than just being born, living day to day. These nagging feelings and thoughts continued to be with me. There had be something more to life something that I did not know. One day two Mormon missionaries knocked on my door and I invited them in. I listened to them politely for a few of their lessons. I was mostly just curious about them and their beliefs. They had a lesson on health and gave me a challenge to give up smoking. I did not commit to them, but after thinking about it for sometime. I offered this prayer out loud. God if you are really there and what these missionaries are saying are true, if this is your church on earth, will you help me give up smoking?. Very quickly I began to notice that I had no desire for smoking. I was extremely surprised and realized my prayer was answered. I continued listening to the lessons. I felt the spirit so strongly as I attended a church meeting telling me this is where I should be. I was able to understand the answers to all of my questions of why was I here, what was I supposed to be doing and where was I going. I came to learn and understand of Heavenly Father's great Plan of Happiness for all of us. I have never been happier in my life.

How I live my faith

I try my best each day to live my faith by studying my scriptures, meditating and praying each morning. This always gives me the strength and peace I desire for another day of whatever life will bring to me. I try my best in striving to follow our Savior Jesus Christ example in serving, being kind and loving everyone. It is always an ongoing work in progress. I have felt the spirit so often as I do this and know that I am on the right path. I love my Savior and Father in Heaven and am so grateful for their influences, guidance, peace and strength they have given me in my life. Another example . In the church I have a responsibility that I truly love which is working and serving with the Young Women in the church ages 12-18. My title for this calling or responsibility is the Young Women's President .There are three other women that serve with me. As women of faith we do our best to be examples of good works, faith, integrity, following our Savior's example and help them to develop their own strong faith in our Savior. We meet each Sunday for lessons and each Tuesday for activities. We all come to love and appreciate each other. The young women enjoy girls camp, dances, temple trips, service opportunities, crafts, Sunday lessons and work on their Personal Progress booklet. Recently we enjoy visiting with each of them around an open pit fire roasting marshmallows, making Smores, laughing and getting to know one another better.
