Hi I'm Jon

I was born in Germany and I now live in Utah

About Me

I have been married for over 13 years, I have 6 wonderful children. I love to participate in the administration or coaching of athletics, particularly enjoy coaching my children in all types of activities.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I received a witness of the truth of the restored gospel in my early to mid twenties while studying The Book of Mormon over a period of two to three years. With that witness I came to believe that Joseph Smith was the Lord's anointed, saved to come forth in these latter days to restore the Gospel and establish the Kingdom of God once again on the Earth.

How I live my faith

Currently I am responsible to organize and administrate physical activities, i.e. sports for all of the members in the north western portion of Utah county. In addition to this calling I also serve as an instructor once or twice a month for the men in my congregation. Typically I teach topics that help our members to better understand the principles that form the foundation of the restored Gospel. I and another individual, also named Rick, have a stewardship over one family and two single men that live in my neighborhood. In the church this calling is titled Home Teacher.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jon
Yes, as long as the individual adheres to the basic principles that would make anyone Christian. Simply saying I am a Christian does not make one a Christian. Believing & accepting Him then following Him must be part of the equation. Love the Lord with all thy might mind and strength, love thy neighbor. As far as answering this question as a collective whole, I emphatically say yes! It is afterall, The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. Show more Show less
