Hi I'm Kate

I'm a Utah girl in the South. I love my friends, family, & a good laugh. I'm a mom, wife, & food blogger. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern Utah until I moved away for college after I graduated from high school. After dating a lot of "interesting" guys, I swore off dating on starting getting ready to go on a mission when I kind of fell in love with a friend. We got married in the Bountiful Temple in 2001 and after I graduated with my degree in English in 2004, we found out we were expecting our first child. Six months after his sister was born, we moved to the South for my husband's job. Right now, aside from taking care of my kids and our kitty (who thinks she's a much larger jungle cat), I write a popular cooking blog with a good friend.

Why I am a Mormon

In my life, I feel like I've experienced a lot of wonderful blessings as well as some devastating challenges. I feel like the Gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me truly enjoy and appreciate the joys as well as survive, understand, and learn from the sorrows. Although there have been times that I haven't understood a particular commandment, doctrine, or personal challenge I may have been faced with at the time, I've found that if I faithfully follow our Heavenly Father's commandments, I have never been led anywhere I didn't want to wind up.

How I live my faith

Rather than creating lines and boundaries of what we believe and what others believe, I try to find the common ground because I believe we have many more similarities than differences. I don't ever want anyone of different beliefs to feel like they are not welcome to be part of my life just because I adhere to a certain set of standards. I have friends and loved ones from all walks of life and hope that I can be an example of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through true friendship and love.
