Hi I'm Don

I was born and raised in Minnesota and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, father, grandfather and I'm an engineer. I love being outdoors and when I can find someone who wants to camp with a 60 year old man, I go camping. I used to hike and backpack a lot but I think those days are behind me forever. I'm fascinated by church history, I keep a journal and I love family history and genealogy. I love following professional baseball on TV and I know I risk your disapproval when I say this, but I'm a NY Yankees fan. I like watching people who are really good at what they do.

Why I am a Mormon

When my wife and I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, we were searching for meaningful and lasting truths. The decision to invite the Mormon Missionaries to teach us about their church was the best one I ever made. The missionaries taught us what it meant to be happy and showed us how to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. In the 30 plus years that we've been members of the church, we've been motivated by a purpose that transcends the commonplace. We've learned how to be decent, generous, faithful god-fearing people.

How I live my faith

When people at work ask me how my weekend went, I tell them it was pretty much the same as always - family, friends and church. We dote on our grandchildren and are always looking for ways to bless their lives. We love our two sons and their wives and as we do with our grandchildren, we help them lead better, happier lives. We also serve as spiritual leaders of a small unit of the Church. We watch over and serve about 40 single men and women between the ages of 18 and 31. One of the young men at church recently sent my wife a note thanking her for being such a great example of a Mom. We've come to love each one of them and we can feel their love for us.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Don
The most faithful members of our church live their lives centered on the teachings of Jesus Christ. He's our savior and perfect example of how to treat one another. We love, honor, worship and obey him. He is our strength and our guide. We believe that he knows each one of us personally and is concerned about our welfare. He works to save each one of so we can be with him in the eternities. Show more Show less
