Hi I'm Mike

I grew up just south of Chicago, I have a cleaning business, I'm a father of three beautiful children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married since Nov 2, 2002. I have 3 beautiful children ages 4, 6 and 8. My wife and I are still trying to finish school and start are kids out in school. We enjoy spending time together, watching movies, wrestling, and laughing. Most of all we love teaching our children and watching them learn new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church. My Dad joined the church just before he married my mom and both of my mom's parents are converts to the church so my lineage of membership doesn't extend too far. Having been a member of the church my whole life, I have been blessed with many opportunities to grow and learn in the gospel. I grew up in a small mid-western city. I was the only member in my grade, all through school. I had many friends that were of other faiths, and of no faiths. I have always known The Church is true. For many of my younger years, I relied on the beliefs of my parents and friends. But as I grew up, and ventured more away from home, I had opportunities to cultivate a testimony of my own. I can honestly say that God has been a part of my entire life. I have learned to listen to the spirit and follow its councils. I have experienced the safety and protection of following the gospel principals. I have reaped the rewards of blind faith. God exists. It’s that simple. He exists and loves us.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon offers many opportunities to serve, not only God, but our brothers and sisters. I have served as a Sunday school teacher for all of the different age groups. Was the clerk for a small Spanish branch for 3 years. I kept track of both membership and financial records for our branch. Serving in this capacity really opened my eyes to the great organization of the church. Everything is in perfect order and in place to serve the members of the church. I am now serving a ward mission leader. In this capasity, I oversee the missionary efforts in our ward. I council with other leaders in our ward and coordinate the efforts of the full-time missionaries with the efforts of the members in our ward, to better serve the needs of the poeple in are area in regards to learning about the church.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Mike
The church is organized into branches, wards and stakes. A stake is made up of several wards and branches that encompass a specific geographical area. A ward is a congregation of several hundred members. A branch is a smaller congregation of usually less than 200, many times less than 100 members. The branch I belong to is a Spanish branch with only 75 members. Show more Show less
