Hi I'm Bruce Blake

Hi, I live in Idaho and I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints also referred to as the Mormon church.

About Me

I am a husband and father of four daughters. My wife and I have been married for over 20 years. I work as a school administrator to coordinate the delivery of services to special needs children. My main hobby for many years was weight training. I participated in the sport of natural bodybuilding for about 8 years and was able to earn a pro card and compete at the professional level in four contests. I loved the sport for the discipline that was learned and also the knowledge gained about how remarkable the human body truly is. But as luck would have it, I had to give up the sport due to the infirmities that develop with age. I have lived through many trials in my life including being hit by a car at the age of six, acquiring pneumonia in my early thirties which included a trip to the ICU and have suffered 2 pulmonary embolisms in my late thirties. I have miraculously survived these serious threats to my life and I believe it is because of faith that I am still around. I have had many other trials the most recent being a back injury that required surgery and put an end to my active lifestyle. This has been a very difficult thing to deal with as I have been active all of my life and have had to scale back my activities and spend more time at home than I would like. Through all of the trials I have experienced, I have always relied on my faith in the Savior Jesus Christ to get me through the difficult parts of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have had a spiritual witness to the truthfulness of the gospel and the Antonement of the Savior Jesus Christ. I know that we have a living prophet who receives revelation specific to our day and age. I know that the Book Of Mormon is a true history of a group of people who were led to this continent by the hand of the Lord and left their history to us as an additional testament of our Savior Jesus Christ. Understanding God's plan for us has been an integral part of my families life and gives our lives meaning. I know that anyone can receive a witness of the truth if they truly desire it by kneeling in prayer and asking for divine guidance and understanding combined with a willingness to accept God's will.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example of what I believe a true follower of Christ should be. Although many times I fall short, I try to keep my thoughts and actions clean, pray daily, study the scriptures, participate in Sunday services, accept callings to serve in my church, teach the gospel in my home, bear testimony of Jesus Christ, and help those in need.

Are Mormons Christians?

Bruce Blake
Everything that is done in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is centered around our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We profess that only through the Atonement of Jesus Christ can we be cleansed from our sins and gain the privilege of dwelling in the presence of our Heavenly Father with our families for all eternity.
