Do you want to chat with a missionary?

We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hi I'm Russ

Dating back to the 1830's, my ancestors and I are Mormons. I can't imagine a happy life without these teachings.

About Me

I have been happily married for 26 years and have 4 wonderful children. My career in software sales has taken me to over 30 countries. I am now the CEO of ContentWatch, makers of Net Nanny Internet filtering software.

Why I am a Mormon

By studying and following the doctrines taught by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I am happier, more fulfilled, and better prepared to be a successful father, husband, friend, and co-worker. The life and teachings of Jesus Christ are the only path to ultimate happiness. The only way to know if a precept is true is to learn it and live it.

How I live my faith

These days, I regularly work with college-age youth from Brigham Young University in various leadership, religious and community service programs. In the past, I have volunteered as a Sunday school teacher for youth, as a full-time missionary in Mexico, and as a Boy Scout leader.

Are Mormons Christians?

Russ
Mormons are indeed Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ. He is God's son. We regularly pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. We continually study the life and teachings of Jesus Christ to emulate Him. We attend church weekly to worship Jesus Christ. We rely on his Atonement and trust in the Redemption. I know that Jesus Christ died for us, which redeems us from physical death and from an eternity of nothingness. We will resurrect to live again and will live among our loved ones. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for us, which redeems us from spiritual death and an eternity of damnation. We can stand truly blameless before the judgment bar, if we work as hard as we can to better ourselves. We won't quite achieve a sinless life, but we can be held blameless, because of God's mercy and eternal love for us. It is God's work and His glory to see us redeemed and exalted. Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Russ
The Book of Mormon contains the inspired writings of many ancient prophets. It is a witness, along with the Bible, of Jesus Christ and his Role as the Savior and Redeemer of the world. Lehi, an ancient prophet living in Jerusalem approx. 600 B.C., was commanded by God to lead his family and others to relocate to the American continent. God continued to call prophets among these people in the Americas. The Book of Mormon is a collection of their inspired writings. It is named after Mormon, one of these ancient prophets. The Book of Mormon includes a wonderful promise that those who read it and sincerely pray about it can know by the Holy Ghost that it is true. See Moroni 10:3-5. I have read it, prayed about it, and can testify that it is true. Show more Show less
