Hi I'm David

I'm married with four great kids. I have lived all over the United States. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband and father of four including one in college. I'm an investigator and love genealogy. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon, but as a youth, I committed my life to Jesus Christ because of the miracles I've seen in my life. I have felt the love of God, received strength to endure life's challenges, and been guided by the Holy Spirit. I also find great inspiration and meaning in life from the Holy Scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. It is evidence to me that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that He loves me, and that I can live with Him, our Heavenly Father, and my family forever.

How I live my faith

The guiding principles in my life are love, integrity, self-sufficiency, and hard work. God has given me so much that I want to share that with others through service. One of my responsibilities in our congregation is to regularly visit single sisters with my son. We share messages of faith and inspiration, offer assistance where we can, and seek to comfort and uplift. I also serve as a counselor, or assistant, to the Bishop of our congregation. In this capacity, I support the efforts of our youth organizations, I help plan our Sunday meetings, and I work to identify those members who we haven't seen recently at Church. Perhaps most of all, I try hard to raise my children so they make good choices and contribute to society. It's a tough world out there, but with the support of the Church and the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we're doing OK.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

David
We are all one large family, children of our Heavenly Father. That is an eternal pattern. Is it any wonder, then, that we enter our earthly existence dependent on parents to protect us, provide for us, and guide us until we are adults and can have children ourselves? We are here on this earth as children of a God who wants to protect us, provide for us, and guide us home to him. In the end, we can live again with Him some day and with our families forever. That is why it is so important to us to try to perfect our families on this earth, to love our children, and to remain committed as spouses. Show more Show less

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

David
The Mormon Church helps in many ways. One is through it crisis relief. Members of the Church are encouraged to fast one Sunday each month and give the money they save to the Church. That money is used to help people who suffer from natural disasters. In recent years, the Church has helped victims of tsunamis, floods, earthquakes, and so much more. Most recipients of aid are not members of the Church, and some are in countries where the Mormon Church cannot even legally proselyte. Another say the Church helps people around the world is through its missionary efforts. By leading people to Christ, missionaries help individuals set higher goals for themselves and strive to become more than they are. As a result, people become converted to Christ and seek to follow His example of love and service. Families grow stronger and society benefits. Show more Show less
