Hi I'm Jary Welker

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a beautiful 1st generation member of the church and we have been blessed with four wonderful children. I love to read, write and teach. We have a young but growing family business that we work as a family. I was blessed to have served a Spanish speaking mission in Idaho and still have the opportunity to use my language in our stake in a small Spanish language branch. I am a husband, a father, son and a brother and proud and greatful to be called a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

While I have come from a family that has heritage back to the early days of the church, I have had to search, ponder and pray as anyone would need to do to gain a sure witness that this church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is true. I have also prayed about the Book of Mormon to know that it is the word of God and 'Another Testament of Jesus Christ.' I have had the Holy Spirit testify to me that God lives and Jesus Christ is His Holy Son. You too can know the same and more. I invite you to ask of God.

How I live my faith

I love the words of the Apostle Paul found in the 13th chapter of 1st Corinthians as well as Moroni (Book of Mormon) chapter 7 about charity and the pure love of Christ. That is my daily aim, or struggle, as well as to follow the example of the Savior. I also love the thought of George Washington Carver who suggested that we would do well to leave the soil a little richer than when we found it. My parents taught us to serve and my wife and I are trying to leave that same heritage to our children.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

Jary Welker
We do not endorse political parties or individual candidates. We are encouraged as members to be actively engaged in doing good to all and to be involved in our local neighborhoods, schools and communities but we do not use our churches or church leaders to promote candidates or parties. What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Jary Welker
Mormons are just like your neighbors and friends because we are your neighbors and friends. We are very family centered and our lifestyle reflects that commitment to each other. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jary Welker
We feel a responsibility to care for our own - begining first with our families. But we are also taught to love our neighbors as ourselves and follow the teachings of the Savior when He taught of the Good Samaritan. This begins in our communities and extends worldwide as the church reaches it great humanitarian arm to rescue and care for victims of worldwide disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamies and more all without regard to gender, age, creed or color or religious denomination.
