Hi I'm Larkin

I'm a neat freak. I'm a speech pathologist. I'm a sister, aunt, daughter, and wife. I'm a country girl at heart. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the western United States. My little brother & I loved to roam with the antelope in the open hills that made up our backyard. When we moved to a more urban area, I thought my life would end. But it didn't. I found new hobbies to take up my time -- music lessons, school activities, travelling, shopping, beautifying my surroundings. I moved away from my family to attend a university. While the transistion was a little painful, I learned several life lessons. I also met my sweet husband! I earned a masters degree in Speech-Langauge Pathology and have worked in the public school system since I graduated. I love feeling like I am making a difference, however small, in the lives of struggling students. And, I spend most of my days playing games! Now, my husband & I live in the Midwest while he attends graduate school. We love the welcoming atmosphere and the strong religious convictions of our friends & neighboors.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I thrive on the peace that living the teachings of Jesus Christ brings to me. I know that my life is enriched when I am trying my best to do the things that I believe are right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by passing on to others the love that I feel from my Heavenly Father. It's easy for me to spread this love at work by being just a little bit kinder to my students -- maybe letting them tell me about their weekend before I ask them to practice their speech sounds or giving them extra encouragement before a test. I try to smile and sincerely thank people that I come in contact with at restaurants, grocery stores, and other places in the community. I work to find opportunities to make my friends and neighbors lives a little bit easier. While I am not perfect all the time, I feel like it is very important to leave each person I interact with a little bit happier than I found them.
