Hi I'm TJ

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the husband to a beautiful wife who is better than I deserve, and together we have a beautiful baby girl, who we give most of our attention to these days! The roller coaster of life has taken me from job to job and place to place. I chose not to go to school after I served for two years as a Mormon missionary, instead I decided to work towards my own insurance agency. I haven't gotten there yet, however I look forward to the day when I can be a business owner. My family and the Lord are the most important parts of my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I am proud to have been born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, my parrents taught me corrrect principles by example while I was young. Throughout my life I have always known that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me, because my parents taught me to pray. When I was young I had the greatest faith I have ever had in my life yet, and I am now working towards having that childlike faith I once had. The teenage years for me was the time to decide which side of the fence I was on, I struggled often with wanting to fit in with the world. Coming to the realization that Jesus Christ loved me enough to suffer and pay for my sins, and I would be forgiven if I would do my part, was another new beginning for me. Serving two years as a full time representative of the Lord gave me the opportunity to understand just a little of what he has gone through for us. The experiences I had on my mission prepared me for a life of service, which I have enjoyed so far. I will continue to serve the Lord my whole life. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, the Prophet Joseph Smith translated it by the power of God! We have the Lord's Church on the earth again with Apostles, Prophets, the Priesthood, and the Fullness of The Gospel of Jesus Christ... that's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Every member of the Church is called to be a missionary! I love to share the gospel, I try to do it everyday. In the Church we have no hired clergy, so everyone has reponsibilities. Our Bishop is like the father of our congregation, or as we call it in the Church, a "Ward". Through revelation from the Lord, the Bishop receives direction for us, which if followed will bring us closer to the Savior. The title of the reponsibility, or "calling", that I have accepted is Assistant Ward Mission Leader. My focus is on assisting the Ward Mission Leader, together our focus is on leading the missionary efforts in our ward, which we do by example. Part of our reponsibility is to coordinate the missionary effort between all of our member missionaries (every member of our Ward), and the full time missionaries who are here temporarily (the ones with the black name tags, sometimes you see them riding bikes). I also have the responsbility of being a "Home Teacher", which is basically missionary work for the members. The Bishop coordinates the home teaching through other leaders in the ward, and assigns every family a home teacher. As a home teacher, I am reponsible for being a friend to the families I have been assigned to. It is important to always make sure that their needs are being met, in this way we become instruments in the Master's Hands. The greatest calling I have been given in life is to be a husband and a father. I try to live by the saying I have herd so often; "No other success in life can compensate for failure in the home." I try to follow my father's example and teach my children while they are young.
