Hi I'm Michael McCain

I was the only Mormon in school, my mother taught me seminary. My wife and I were engaged before our first date. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 38 years old. I am married and have 3 awesome kids. They make me very proud. I moved back to Nebraska after my mission and have stayed ever since. My wife is Kasey, she was born 8 hours before me. We have been married for 16 years. I can't believe how fast time really flies.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 9 months old. My uncle decided he wanted to "practice" and he gave me a blessing. My name went down on the records of the church. From there the missionaries started visiting. My mom really took the church and its teachings. My brother and I have served missions and baptized numerous people, thanks to that little blessing. I love the Gospel and everything about it. No other church on this earth can deliver what this church can. From a simple Primary lesson to the wonderful temple ceremony. No other church on earth can deliver it "all".

How I live my faith

I work in the Stake Young Men's Presidency. I love it. I have grown to love the youth the longer I have served in callings involving youth. I take care of four wonderful families each month. It is a great opportunity to serve someone other than myself.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

Michael McCain
Everything we do in life or in the Gospel of Jesus Christ has to do with learning in steps. We don't just jump into anything "just because". It is all about learning little by little, precept on precept. When we go to church as a Mormon, it is to renew our covenants or "promises" we made at baptism. We take bread and water which represents the blood and body of our Savior Jesus Christ. The temple is the next step. When we go to the temple for first time, we go through for ourselves. We make the same covenants or "promises" that Abraham made with God. Once we receive those wonderful blessings, we have the opportunity to go through for our ancestors. If there truly is life after death, than why not give those who have lived before us an opportunity to accept the covenants we make at the temple? In the scriptures we are told that if we are obedient and keep the commandments of God that we can know "All of the Mysteries of God". However, we don't just learn these things the first time we go, we learn as we keep going back, we learn as we keep studying the scriptures, and living the way he would have us live. The more obedient we are the more the Holy Ghost can confirm the truthfulness of all things. I love the temple, I love every part of it. Every time I go, I feel like shouting from the roof top that everyone should go and experience it for themselves. The peace, the love, and the spirit that you feel there is second to none.
