Hi I'm Dan

I'm 65 and was born and raised in the Mormon Church

About Me

I grew up in California in the Los Angeles Area. I was married at 18 and had seven children. One of each kind. I was divorced after 24 years. I kept and raised the remaining 4 children that were still at home. I remarried and lived with the most wonderful woman in the world. We were married for 20 years and then she came down with Lukemia and died shortly there after. It was devastating to me. I had been married most of my life and didn't know how to be single. After a short period of time I remarried again to a great person I met on the internet. She lived in Penn. and I was in Atlanta. We have been married now 2.5 years. It has had its challenges, but she is a tremendous person and I love her more each day. I retired after 30 years of traveling sales for a large corportation. I got tired of traveling and settled down in a small town in Georgia. We started a Landscape Maintenance Company and have been doing very well for the last 18 years. We run our business out of our 25 acre farm in a rural area. We love it. It is quiet and peaceful. We leave our keys in the cars at night. We have deer, turkey, foxes, and bob cats on our property. We also raise chickens for the eggs and pigs from time to time. I enjoy fishing, and working with my hands.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and that was all I knew. I have ancestors that left their native countries because they joined the church and wanted to come to america to be with the other members. They exercised great faith by leaving all they had for a new church. They crossed the plains and ended up in Salt Lake City back around 1860. It wasn't until I got out on my own that I had to make choices as to what I believed instead of what others taught me to believe. It was sometimes challenging as a young married person. However I must say that I have had so many situations happen in my life that demonstrated that God is real, and knows who I am. He loves me and I have been the recipient of many wonderful blessings. He has answered my prayers and helped me through some very difficult times. I am greatful of the knowledge and faith I have in Jesus Christ. That he loved me enough to die for me and make it possible for me to return to his presence one day. I believe in life after death and being married to your loved one for time and all eternity. Not just until death do you part. I know that someday I will be reunited with my wife. Life would be very difficult for me with out the knowledge that God is watching over me. I have messed up a lot in my life. I know that as I have continued to love my children when they have been stinkers sometimes, that the Lord can continue to love me and help me through the rough times.

How I live my faith

I have many opportunities to serve and help others in and out of the church. Because of some of the responsibilties I have, it puts me in a position to serve others who are in need, including the elderly, single mothers with children, single adults over 30 who are struggling with life, as well as those who are struggling with the poor economy. I love helping others. It makes me feel better and helps me be less focused on myself. I enjoy helping others learn about our church. It is exciting to see the changes that comes over people and their lives when they develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
