Hi I'm Virginia

I grew up outside of Chicago, and am a big sports fan. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a first year law student. I just finished my undergraduate degree in political science and American studies and I am looking at either immigration or international law. I love to play tennis and other sports, read good books, and listen to music.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel has been restored, that once again there are prophets on this earth who can speak for God and tell us what he wants us to know in these times. I testify that the Book of Mormon is true, reading this book fills me with light, happiness, and understanding. This understanding comes from God alone. Only good comes from this church. My family has been strengthened by the sure knowledge that we can live together forever. I cannot deny the many blessings that the Lord has given me, and I know that they are open to all. Anyone can come and fill of this same spirit of the Lord.

How I live my faith

I recently moved to a new town where I did not know anyone. It was here that I realized the beauty of church organization. Immediately, that first Sunday I felt like I had a family, a group of people that I could call if I ever needed anyone. My branch has weekly activities, a group family home evening, institute classes, and service projects. Everyone has the opportunity to serve and getting involved quickly helping others helped me to make friends and not feel like I was alone in a strange place.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Virginia
The law of chastity means that we have no sexual relations except with our husband/wife. It also implies that we follow a standard of modesty/purity in our everyday actions. Our bodies are a gift from god and he has given us the power of procreation knowing that our biggest joys will be within a loving family, he expects that we will therefore use this power appropriately to build up strong, lasting relationships.
