Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a skier. I'm a mountain biker. I'm a web developer. I'm a husband and father of three. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Dallas Texas. I'm the youngest of 9 boys and second youngest of 12 kids. My dad is an adventurous and active dad who taught us to also love adventure. Being the youngest boy I was able to have 8 wild and crazy examples. I quickly grew into the cast. I love the outdoors and I love adventure. Skiing, back-packing, mountain bikes, or taking a dare from my brother David or nephew Steven, I absolutely love adventure. More recently, while I was studying web development at BYU-Idaho, I took up dirt biking because I was starting to go crazy from sitting is class and on the computer all day. Riding a dirt bike through the beautiful scenery of the mountains has made my top 5 adventures. Here is that list. 1. My first backflip on Skis with my brother David, and all the flips, twists, cliffs, and crashes that followed! 2. Bungee jumped 486 feet off of Perrine Bridge over the Snake river in Idaho. The bungee was adjusted so that we dipped into the river up to our chests. It was incredible! 3. The mountain biking summers of 2010 and 2011 while I was at college in Idaho. We went every weekend and the trails and scenery there are amazing. 4. 100 mile backpacking trip through the Sierra Nevada's culminating in climbing to the peak of Mount Whitney, the tallest spot in the continental US. I was 7. 5. Dirt biking through the forests and sand dunes of Idaho while as was there at school. Idaho is a very pretty state! I absolutley love a beautiful vista!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. When I was very young, maybe 7, I remember very clearly the following experience. I was in the back seat of our car and we drove past the church building where we attended church. As we passed the building I remember asking myself if it were really possible that I was a member of Jesus Christ's only true church. The answer came immediately and clearly. The Holy Ghost spoke to my soul that this was Christ's church here on earth. As a young teen I took up the challenge by our local church leaders to read the Book of Mormon. I became engrossed in its pages. For 8 months I woke up before school at 5am to read from the Book of Mormon. During that period I gained an undeniable witness through the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was called by God to bring to pass the Lord's work. Despite having many witnesses as a child of the truthfulness of this church, I have earnestly studied and sought answers as an adult. I come from a family of 12 and I myself now have three kids. I love my family more than anything and desire that we are all as happy as feasibly possible. Through study and prayer I know that it is through the living of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we can gain the greatest happiness and the receive the blessing of being reunited with our family after this life.

How I live my faith

I believe that a disciple of Jesus Christ is someone who loves and serves those around him. I live my faith by doing all that I can to uplift those around me.
