Hi I'm Matt
I'm from England. I'm a qualified primary school teacher and I'm a Mormon
About Me
I love to play sport, it brings people together (as long as it's not too competitive). My favourite sports are football and tennis. I have completed my studies at University in Primary Education and now have a job as a Primary School Teacher. I am married to my wonderful wife and have been for three years. We also have a wonderful baby boy, Joshua, with another baby on the way. I love my family and the principle that we can be together forever - because it's true!
Why I am a Mormon
I was brought up in the Church by my wonderful parents. However - there came a point where I had to learn the truth for myself, and not live off my parents testimony. I started to question the things I had been taught simply because I wanted to know for myself if they were true. This was around about when I was 15 years old. According to a promise given by the prophet at the time (President Gordon B. Hinckley), I read the entire Book of Mormon in between Aug-Dec 2005. I prayed to know the truthfulness of that Book...and I received an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost, exactly as a promise in the Book said I would (see Moroni 10:4-5). As such, I know that Christ is indeed my Saviour and Redeemer. I also know the scriptures to be true; the Bible and the Book of Mormon and that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God. I am a member of this Church as I know it to be Christ's Church restored again to the Earth as it was in His day with the priesthood authority of God.
How I live my faith
I currently work with the men aged 18+ as Elders Quorum President, where I aim to help the members of that Quorum grow in the Gospel and come closer to Christ. I also serve as a 'home teacher' where I look after designated families and ensure their needs are catered for (physical and spiritual). I also served as a Young Men's President from 2010-2012 where I supported and led the Young Men's group in my Ward, providing lessons, activities and support to the 12-17 year old young men. I recently finished serving a 2 year full-time mission for the Church in the England Leeds Mission.
