Hi I'm BOB

I'm a Husband, a Father, an adult-onset-athlete and a Mormon.

About Me

Today I have a wonderful wife, 4 great kids and two dogs. In 2008 I started running for health and recreation - currently I have done several half-marathons and 5 full marathons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised with any type of formal religion, in fact until I was about 16 I had never attended any type of Sunday service even though was not a religious person I did consider myself somewhat spiritual. I had attended some "Youth Group" activities that were held at a local Baptist Church - which helped me find some great friends who would help me make wise choices during my teenage years. However, with my limited experiences I always knew that I liked the way I felt when I was learning about our Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. When I was 18 I met some Mormon students at the college I was attending. After a couple of times at church with these new friends I decided to meet with the full-time missionaries. It only took a couple of visits with them for me to realize that they had the answers to the questions I had had regarding where I came from, what our purpose in life is and where we are going after this life. My roommate at that time was not fond of the LDS church, in he was what is called "anti-mormon" in his beliefs. As I was taking the missionary lessons and praying about the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he gave me several anti-LDS pamphlets; I read each of them in detail. As I read I received to my mind all of the answers to the doubts and questions these pamphlets proposed - that and some other experiences solidified in my heart and mind that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, restored to the earth in our day with the same principles and truths that existed in the ancient Church.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a counselor in our ward's Sunday School presidency.
