Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So, here are a few things you should know about me. I am from Salt Lake City; I've lived here all my life. In fact, I still live in the home I grew up in (I bought it from my parents - important note: I don't live with my parents!). I am married to a wonderful woman, Tara, and have three amazing kids, Kennedy, Alex, and Dylan. I have worked at the University of Utah for over a decade and love everything about it. I currently work as a technology trainer with teachers; I help them integrate technology in their instruction. I am an author of two books on technology for education, Going Google and Classroom in the Cloud. Finally, I am a huge sports fan and love the Utes, Red Sox, and the Jazz. My hobbies include playing/watching sports, geocaching, camping, and an occasional wrestling match with three little ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love the positive impact the church has on my family. I truly feel blessed to be part of a church that emphasizes families so much. I know the best part of my life is being a husband and father and being a Mormon helps me in those roles. I am a Mormon because of our Savior, Jesus Christ. He has done so much for me and I know that living his teachings helps me be a better man. I want to follow his example and being a Mormon helps me do this. I am a Mormon because of my heritage. I have a strong family background in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My ancestors' stories strengthen my faith and provide me with strong sense of identity. Being a Mormon helps me connect with my past.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in the leadership for our local congregation. I enjoy getting to meet and work with so many of my neighbors. It is a great blessing to have amazing people in my life.
