Hi I'm Dee

I grew up an Army brat and settled in North Carolina. I am a wife, mother of 4, teacher, photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a life long member of the church. My husband and I have four children and are striving to live the standards set forth by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I serve as the Young Women's President for our branch and my husband serves as the branch clerk. My husband was converted and baptized into the church in 2004, after nine years of marraige. and we were sealed for time and all eternity in 2006, and now we have a united, eternal home. I am a clown, photographer, and teacher by trade and a current college student. I enjoy spending time with my family and my young women at church. I love it when they bring thier friends because it helps our group feel bigger than it is. Magnifying my calling means a lot to me. When I am serving the young women I feel like my Father in Heaven can be happy with me. I love preparing lessons and activities for them that will help them to learn about their Father in Heaven and His love for them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was told at one time that I followed my religion blindly. That struck a cord with me and I had to sit back and ask myself if I was living the gospel off the testimony of others, or did I have one of my own. That was back in high school, when most teens were riding on the testimonies of thier parents. I can say now as an adult that I probably was, even though I didn't want to admit it. I know that the gospel is the one true church on the face of the earth. So, I am a Mormon because I know it is the one tru church on the face of the earth. I know that it was restored by the prophet Josepf Smith, and that the Lord has continued to call prophets to this day. I know that Thomas S Monson is a prophet of God and that Jesus Chirst leads this church through him. I know that the Book of Mormon is a second witness that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he did die on the cross and was ressurected so that I may live again in glory with Him and my Heavenly Father. I am a "Mormon" because I know that is what my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

How I live my faith

Callings in the church are a fundamental part of what helps me to live the standards of the gospel. I love my calling as the president of our young women's organization. As I teach the youth of the church it reminds me of the things that I should be doing. So, I improve myself, and hope and pray that I make some kind of impact on the lives of these young people who are bombarded with temptation of sin on a minute to minute basis. I try to live by example.
